Oshkosh AeroTech is a leading provider of aviation ground support products, gate equipment and airport services to commercial airlines, airports, air-freight carriers, ground handling and military customers. This position is located at the Dulles International Airport in Dulles, Virginia. Responsibilities include responding to and clearing faults with the baggage handling system in a timely manner, transporting baggage within the baggage handling area, reporting issues that could lead to system failures, completing entry level Maintenance Mechanic duties as needed, assisting with operational issues during outages or failures, lifting up to 70 lbs regularly, working productively in a diverse environment, complying with safety programs, and performing other duties as assigned. The work environment involves exposure to moving mechanical parts, outside weather, fumes, chemicals, cold, vibration, and loud noise. Physical demands include standing, walking, using hands, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, hearing, and lifting/moving up to 49 pounds. Ability to work in outside weather conditions on an airport ramp around aircraft and baggage conveyor systems is required. Qualifications include a valid Driver’s License, airport experience is a plus, basic computer skills, ability to communicate in English verbally and in writing, ability to be badged for secure airport areas, and ability to work day or night shifts including weekends and holidays.
