Position Overview
The Door Person is the first point of contact for guests, setting the tone for an exceptional experience. Core responsibilities include ensuring guest satisfaction, maintaining a safe and secure environment, and assisting with the seamless flow of guests and employees throughout the venue.

The Door Person reports to the FOH Department Head, Lead Servers, and General Manager and works collaboratively with the FOH team.

Core Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Greet all guests warmly, providing a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.
  • Monitor guest entry to ensure a safe and orderly process.
  • Verify guest reservations and maintain an organized waitlist.
  • Ensure the security of the premises by conducting regular safety checks, identifying potential hazards, and promptly addressing any concerns.
  • Act as a resource for guests, answering questions about the venues layout, hours, and policies.
  • Collaborate with management to resolve guest concerns or complaints professionally and efficiently.
  • Communicate with team members to maintain a seamless guest flow, especially during peak times.
  • Recognize and report intoxicated guests to management, ensuring compliance with all safety protocols.
  • Follow all emergency protocols and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Assist FOH operations by coordinating with the host team during high-volume service times.
  • Promote a safe and clean environment for guests and staff, addressing any maintenance or cleanliness issues as needed.
  • Support the overall service team through tasks such as clearing walkways, managing crowd flow, and facilitating guest transitions between spaces.
  • Act as a liaison between guests and FOH team members to ensure smooth communication and service.
Physical Demands:
  • The physical demands for this position include standing, walking, bending, and moving for extended periods, lifting up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. These requirements may be accommodated as needed.

  • Strong awareness and attention to detail for maintaining safety and security standards.
  • Calm demeanor and problem-solving abilities under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills to effectively interact with guests and team members.
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and during special events.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a doorperson, security, or hosting role preferred.
  • Knowledge of safety and emergency procedures in hospitality settings.
