Major Responsibilities And Duties

Colorguard Caption Head

In conjunction with the Marching Band Director, responsibilities include support of the marcing band program, including, but not limited to:

• Design, direct, and instruction of high school color guard.
• Establish performance requirements, enforce academic requirements, and verify each student’s eligibility to participate in colorguard.
• Provide for color guard participation at extracurricular events, including football games, pep rallies, parades, and other community-based activities.
• Adhere to rehearsal schedule, performance schedule and protocols.
• Attend all performances and events.
• Coordinate band booster club, and support band booster club activities.
• Facilitating and coordinating with parents and parent organizations.
• Ensure that programs are cost-effective and funds are managed wisely.
• Maintain current inventory of all fixed assets within department.
• Oversee process of cleaning, repairing, and storing all color guard equipment.
• Create an environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
• Accompany and supervise students on out-of-town trips.
• Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Comply with federal and state laws, State Board of Education rules, and BOE policies.
• Other duties as assigned by the principal and/or superintendent.
