Job Description

ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented  Principal Systems Administrator  to join our team in  Pentagon, VA. The position is onsite.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide specialized support and troubleshooting for VIP users, including hardware, software, network, and application issues

  • Manage and maintain computer systems, servers, and other IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and security

  • Manage VIP user accounts, permissions, and security access within the organization's IT environment

  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve technical issues related to VIP user's IT needs

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of IT systems, procedures, and user support information

  • Collaborate with other IT staff and stakeholders to ensure smooth IT operations and address VIP user needs

  • Strong technical skills in areas such as Windows and Linux operating systems, network administration, virtualization, and security

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to quickly identify and resolve issues

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with VIP users and IT staff

  • Experience in managing and supporting complex IT environments, especially for VIP users

  • Managing desktop computers, servers, and other hardware devices for VIP users

  • Installing, configuring, and updating software applications used by VIP users

  • Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to VIP users' hardware, software, and network access

  • Creating, modifying, and managing VIP user accounts and permissions

  • Supporting and maintaining specialized software and hardware used by VIP users

  • Providing training and support to VIP users on new software and hardware

  • Managing Active Directory and other infrastructure core services

  • Providing support for thin clients and virtual desktop environments

  • Supporting and maintaining COTS and custom software

  • Collaborating with other teams to ensure technology needs are met for events

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and 7+ years of experience in the Information Technology; an additional 4 years of Systems Administration experience can be substituted in lieu of a degree

  • Understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS), servers, and networking

  • Knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP), switch configurations, and firewalls is essential

  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automating tasks and improving efficiency

  • Microsoft Visio, Word, Excel experience

  • CASP+ Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire

  • DoD 8570 Computing Environment Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Systems, HP SANs, VMware products

  • Experience using a Service Desk ticketing system, such as Remedy or ServiceNow

Preferred Qualifications :

  • One of the following certifications is desired: MCSE - Microsoft Certified System Engineer, MCSE - Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert, MCSA - Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate, MCITP - Microsoft Certified Information Technology Professional, VMware VCP - VMware Certified Professional, CCNA - Cisco Certified Network Administrator

  • ITIL Foundations or later certification

  • General Dynamics Encryptor experience

  • SolarWinds experience and knowledge

  • Cisco Prime Infrastructure experience and knowledge

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • US Citizenship required and active TS/SCI clearance adjudicated within the last 6 years.

  • Candidate must be open to Poly if selected by the customer.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.

  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.

  • Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
