Job Description
Responsibilities CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS Preparation of State and Local Income Tax Returns
- Prepare state and local income tax returns, along with related quarterly estimated payments and extensions.
- Research and calculate state and local tax modifications, tax credits, and multistate apportionment.
- Assist with the resolution of state and local income and franchise notices. Maintain notice log for proper documentation, resolution, and follow up.
Assistance with preparation of Federal Income Tax Returns
- Assist in the preparation of federal income tax Sch M Book to Tax adjustments and supporting schedules.
- Review fixed asset system data to review and confirm the proper tax treatment and accurate tax deductions for all assets included on the system
Accounting for Income Taxes
- Perform monthly reconciliations of income and franchise tax general ledger accounts
- Preparation of annual Return to Provision and State Effective Tax Rate computation and analysis.
Tax Information Technology
- Use technology skills for ongoing automation of tax processes and data flow to improve overall efficiencies.
- Review and track general ledger chart of accounts and the impact on income tax compliance and audits.
Qualifications POSITION REQUIREMENTS FORMAL EDUCATION:
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- 1+ years of accounting, finance, or tax experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Hardworking team player, detail oriented, organized, outgoing personality and strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred:
- Prior experience in tax compliance and related software
TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
